Riverside Men's Golf Association
RMGA Activities & Procedures
Thursday Night Tee Times
Tee times can be reserved from 3-6 PM at Riverside Golf Course for RMGA members only one week in advance. Fivesomes are allowed. You can form your own groups or just come out to play and the starter will find a group for you to play with. You may play 18 holes earlier if you prefer. You must schedule your own tee time prior to 3 PM.
The 1st Thursday of each month is a 5 PM Shotgun start (9-hole Scramble event) with teams assigned by the computer. Be at the golf course before 5 PM to get on a team. Pro Shop credit will be issued to the winning teams. This is a fun event and a chance to meet other RMGA members. A Progressive Blackout Pool is free for all members to enter. Make sure you sign up on the RMGA table in the pro shop.
Game of the Week
Each Thursday will feature a 9-hole event. If you play 18 holes you are only eligible for one 9. You must use the 9 that you play that is closest to 3:00. These are generally handicapped individual events. You are responsible for writing down the required scores to be eligible to win. Pro Shop credit will be issued to the winners.
Each Thursday various sponsors may provide flag prizes on the course for members to win. If you play 18 holes you are only eligible for flags on one 9. You must use the 9 that you play that is closest to 3:00. Please support and thank these sponsors for their donations.
Skins and Blind Bogey
Each Thursday you can sign up for this optional event. The cost is $5 for each 9 that you play. Sign-up sheets are on the RMGA table in pro shop. The event is divided into Champ/A and B/C for both front and back 9 nines. You must pay and sign up before start of play. The skins are based on gross hole-by-hole scores (not net). Blind Bogey winners are determined by a random score after all play is completed. Cash is paid the following week at the Sponsor location.
Low Net Shootout
Each Thursday you can sign up for this optional event. The cost is $3 for each 9 that you play. Sign-up sheets are on the RMGA table. This event is a handicapped event. You must record your 9-hole score, 9-hole handicap, and net score. The 10 lowest scores (plus ties) of the year qualify for Low Net Shootout on the final Thursday of the year. 25% of the weekly money will go to the low net score (no ties) of the week. 75% of the money goes into the cumulative pot as prize money for Low Net Shootout on the final Thursday of the year.
Each Thursday after golf there will be a meeting at the nightly sponsor's business. All members are encouraged to attend and discuss association business and show your support for RMGA. All who attend will be eligible to win a door prize. 50/50 raffles tickets will be sold with winning ticket drawn at 9 PM. Funds generated go toward the Final Playday Sponsor Prizes. Each time you visit a sponsor, your name will go into the Final Playday Sponsor Prize drawing. Only those members who go to the Sponsor Meetings will be eligible for this drawing.
There are 3 weekend tournaments that RMGA organizes for its members. Watch for postings and signups for these tournaments. All tournaments are handicapped and are set up for all levels of ability.
The Final Playday is the grand finale of each RMGA year. All the money that is generated by the various events goes toward offsetting the cost of this event. This event is held on a Saturday in mid-September. The Final Playday "sign-up fee" is determined how much money is raised throughout the year. Therefore, your participation in the various events helps to reduce the "sign-up fee" amount. So please participate and encourage others to participate.
Courtesy and Respect
RMGA members must show the highest level of courtesy and respect for fellow members.
